Textile compensators are characterized by having great flexibility and good mechanical resistance. They are used in ducts in which gases circulate, in order to absorb thermal expansion, correct misalignments and eliminate vibrations caused by equipment connected to the ducts.

At AMT, we put them on our fans but they can be installed anywhere in the facility.

They are ideal for little spaces, and are able to withstand high temperatures and corrosive fluids.

We recommend placing a metal deflector to avoid abrasion and adherence of particles to the fabric.

Today, these fabrics are free of asbestos, and different fiber-composite materials are used instead. We can differentiate two different types of fabrics, monolayer and multilayer:

  • Monolayer fabrics: These fabrics, as the word itself indicates, are single-layer fabrics, generally made of elastomeric materials (Neoprene, EPDM, Silicone, Fluorinated elastomer, ...), and may have some reinforcing material such as nylon, metal mesh , aramid, ...
  • Multilayer fabrics: Multilayer fabrics usually consist of a base layer, on which is placed a support layer, an insulating layer, a chemical barrier and, finally, the outer covering. In these layers are materials such as Silicate Felt, Ceramic Felt, Fluorinated Elastomer, Metallic Foil, Mineral Wool, Neoprene, ...

We determine the best solution depending on the characteristics of the fluid in collaboration with our fabric supplier.

At AMT, we design and manufacture metal parts based on the characteristics of the fluid.

These materials and their behavior allow the design of specific and custom shapes and sizes, such as:

  • Circulars
  • Rectangular
  • Conical
  • Bellows type
  • Band type
  • Flanged

These fabrics have advantages such as:

  • Resist high temperatures
  • Ensure good tightness
  • Resistance to corrosive products
  • Absorb large expansions
  • Can be placed in small spaces
  • Low maintenance (with minimal replacement cost)
